نوح (به عبری: נוֹחַ) یکی از شخصیت‌های تورات یهودیان و کتاب مقدس مسیحیان و همچنین قرآن مسلمانان و قهرمان داستان طوفان نوح است. در سفر پیدایش، از او به عنوان فرزند لامک، دهمین نسل از نسب آدم، نخستین کشاورز و پرورش دهنده تاکستان یاد شده است. طبق نقل‌های کتاب مقدس، هنگامی که یهوه (خدای یهود) از فساد و تباهی فرزندان آدم به خشم آمد و تصمیم به نابودی آنها با برپا داشتن طوفانی به طول چهل روز و چهل شب نمود، نوح به‌خاطر پرهیزکار بودنش، مورد عفو او قرار گرفت و خداوند به او امر نمود تا یک کشتی بزرگ بنا کند و همسرش، فرزندانش (سام، حام و یافث) و همسران آنها و از هر حیوان، یک جفت نر و ماده را با خود ببرد تا از طوفان در امان بماند. در اساطیر باستانی بابل، یونان باستان و دیگر تمدن‌ها داستانهای مشابه‌ای از قهرمانان طوفان‌ها وجود دارند.[۱] نوح طبق آنچه در کتاب مقدس و قران نگاشته شده‌است، ۹۵۰ سال زیست.[۲][۳]
مسلمانان او را اولین پیامبر اولوالعزم می‌نامند. همچنین نسل انسان‌های جهان را از سه فرزند او سام، حام و یافث می‌دانند.
Noah (or Noe, Noach; Hebrew: נֹחַ, נוֹחַ, Modern Noaẖ Tiberian Nōăḥ; Arabic: نُوح Nūḥ; Greek: Νωέ) was, according to the Hebrew Bible, the tenth and last of the antediluvian Patriarchs. The biblical story of Noah is contained in chapters 6–9 of the book of Genesis, where he saves his family and representatives of all animals from the flood by constructing an ark.[1] He is also mentioned as the "first husbandman" and in the story of the Curse of Ham. Noah is the subject of much elaboration in later Abrahamic traditions
Noé (hébreu : נֹחַ nōa'h : repos ou consolation) est un patriarche biblique lié au récit du Déluge. Sous les ordres de Dieu, il bâtit la célèbre arche portant son nom afin d'échapper aux eaux dévastatrices lancées pour éradiquer l'humanité corrompue. Noé aurait vécu 950 ans, était marié[1] et eut trois fils : Sem, Cham et Japhet. Son histoire est contée dans la Genèse aux chapitres 6 à 9. Au chapitre 10, l'Ancien Testament expose comment les fils de Noé seraient à l'origine de l'ensemble des peuples de la Terre (voir Table des peuples).
Elle correspond fortement, ainsi qu'une partie de la Genèse, à un récit de l'épopée sumérienne de Gilgamesh[2].
